Thinking about your landscape?

Need some help figuring out which plants, where, and when?

I can help! That’s exactly what I do.

Consider a
Garden Consult

A consulting session is about an hour, it’s at your home, and it’s pretty flexible how we spend the time.

This is a great way to get some ideas for your landscape. We usually walk around, you tell me what you are looking for in a given area, and together we come up with some ideas for that area.

I have now done literally hundreds of these lighter, more casual kind of consulting sessions, and people seem to find them very helpful.

If, during this meeting, you decide you would like to turn our collaboration into a project, you can use the consult fee as a down payment for a project package. This offer is good up to 30 days after our meeting.

Imagine getting expert advice
that will…

  • maximize your landscape’s support

    • of native plants,

    • beneficial pollinating insects, (like bees!)

    • birds and butterflies

  • make sure that you have a well-thought-out sequence of bloom, so that there is nectar available to pollinators and colorful bloom for you to enjoy

  • select the right plants for your level of sun or shade, wet or dry, clay or sand…

  • help you gauge the right amount to plant this spring, so that you aren’t overwhelmed with work

Flexible Service

This is a service that can take many forms.

  • I can provide carefully researched plant lists for specific areas of your landscape.

  • Sometimes, in combination with plant lists, I like to provide informal sketches, to help convey how the plants should be placed in relation to each other.

  • In some cases, a design drawing is needed. I try to keep these as simple as possible, to keep your costs down. Also in 20 years of doing this work, I’ve found that big, complex drawings are often actually counterproductive—they can be overwhelming and actually slow progress. It’s much better to do a series of smaller, targeted projects that can be phased in as budget and bandwidth become available.

HOW IT WORKS

Most people start with a consult.

  1. Contact me using the form below. I’ll ask you to answer a few simple questions to get the ball rolling…

  2. We’ll schedule the meeting, discuss your goals, and determine what you’d like to accomplish.

  3. We’ll then have our one hour consult.

RESULTS

  • During the visit, I will answer all your questions to the best of my ability.

  • I will write out any plant names for you, so you don’t have to remember botanical names. But I recommend that you also bring a notebook and take notes during our meeting.

  • We can also figure out your next steps —whether the single meeting is enough to get you off and running, or it makes sense to move forward with a second meeting at some point in the future.

You can move ahead, buy your plants and plant your garden with confidence!

Whether it’s a large or small project, clarity can really help!

  • Payment is by cash, checkor Venmo, due at the end of the session.
